This made a deep impression on me.”īy the time he graduated from Brooklyn College he had already dedicated much of his undergraduate career to working on and off campus for organizations that focused on education and public policy. “As a child of immigrants who did not speak English, I was tasked at a young age with translating important documents. “My father was a teacher in Yemen, and when he came to the United States, he didn’t have access to the credentials to continue his career,” says Almuntaser.
